GAME RECAP - In the Metrodome on Friday night, the NWC Eagles were too much for the Knights, as MLC fell 32-13.  The first half started off with great football. Twice NWC threaetned MLC at the goalline and both times the Knights' defense toughened to force two field goals.  Then late in the second half, QB Seth Fitzsimmons threw a swing pass to RB Bill Heiges, who broke three tackles on his way to a 21-yard TD reception.  The half ended with a Knight lead of 7-6.

In the second half, the Knights offense went stagnant as they couldn't move the ball at all.  Turnovers and the double teaming of Mike Feuerstahler by the Eagle defense forced MLC to rely heavily on their younger receivers to make plays.  Unfortunately they couldn't deliver.  MLC's punt coverage also suffered heavily, allowing a total of 153 punt return yardage for the game.  These long punt returns gave the Eagles 3 drives in the second half that started on the Knights side of the 50 yardline.  MLC's last touchdown came on a 54-yard interception return for a TD by Sophomore cornerback Joel Schwartz.

MLC finished the season in 2nd place in the UMAC conference witha 4-1 record, 4-5 overall, MLC's first losing season in football.
