Knights generate 250 yards of offense in the first half, including an opening 80 touchdown drive, but that would be the Knights only score of the game as Crown scored 14 unanswered points in the second half to get past the Knights 14-7. The Knights had a huge day on the ground, led by senior running back Noah Herrmann. Herrmann had a career day, rushing for 143 yards on 22 carries. Herrmann helped the Knights sustain their long drives, converting all six of the Knights successful third down conversions and back to back fourth down conversions in the fourth quarter.
The Knights defense, after holding Crown to 34 yards of total offense in the first half, sputtered in the final 30 minutes of play. In each of Crown's scoring drives, a crucial Knights penalty helped keep the Crown Storm offense moving, including a pass interference penalty on a 4th and 13 that eventually led to the Storm's game-winning touchdown.
Next up for the Knights is Trinity Bible College at 1pm next Saturday.
