|
|
The Knights sophomore tandem of Jake Schwartz and Nate Nass combined for 46 of the Knights 75 points en route to a 75-59 victory over Northland College. Northland jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead, with guard Aaron Arneson hitting back-to-back shots from downtown to start the game. Schwartz's third three-point basket of the half gave the Knights a 24-23 lead, their first of the game. Schwartz connected on his fourth shot from behind the arc as time expired, giving the Knights a 38-32 half time lead. With 13:36 remaining in the game, Arneson's successful three-point play tied the game at 44. From there, the Knights would take a lead they would never relinquish. Schwartz's fifth and final three-pointer of the Knight capped off a 12-2 run, putting the Knights lead into double digits, 56-46. As Northland tried to rally, the Knights made the most of their trips to the line, shooting 90% on free throws in the game. Freshman forward Brian Gephardt led the Knights with seven boards.
