“Something old, something new…” may be a fitting theme for this year’s edition of the Lady Knights basketball team. Last year’s team finished with an MLC best 14-8 record and a third place finish in the UMAC. Gone however, are former head coach Dennis Gorsline and the team’s top three scorers. In their place, Coach Gene Pfeifer will look to several returning players for their on-court presence and leadership, and a host of new talent to add quality depth at each position. Pfeifer states, “Our balance of veteran leadership and new players should make us again competitive in the 2001-2002 campaign. The players sense a lot of excitement and enthusiasm for the upcoming season. I look for this year’s team to have respectable overall height and quickness. We look to have skilled players at each position.”
