QUICK GAME RECAP: For the past 4 games, the formula had been easy. Play tough defense, hang onto the ball, and rebound. On Tuesday night, the Knights failed to put these components together and in turn fell to Northland College 67-58. Although the Knights shot 47% from the field, they only attempted 41 shots. MLC's defense in turn allowed 62 shot attempts to Northland. MLC was also out rebounded on the Knights 37-34, which included 20 Northland offensive rebounds. MLC also committed 14 turnovers in the first half. Despite those follies, the Knights were still up 30-24. Northland came out in the second half though and took charge 2:00 into the half. They went on an 11-0 run to take the lead. Again Northland offensive rebounds and Knights turnovers were the key. The Knights tried several times to make a run, but their turnovers and lack of rebounding on the defensive end wouldn't allow them to close the gap. The Knights take on Northwestern at Roseville on Saturday. Northwestern leads the conference with a 13-8, 3-0 record.
