Past, Present & Future Lead Knights

to Sixth Straight Victory

The UMAC Playoffs may now have the UMAC's hottest team checking into the Final Four competition.  The Knights overcame a sloppy first half and an off night for Emma Babinec en route to a 63-58 victory over the 1st place UM-Morris Cougars Friday.

In the victory, the Knights got to celebrate what has been, with Babinec becoming  Knights basketball's all-time leading scorer, with over 1440 points in her four year career so far.  Just as important, the Knights also got to see what may be coming, with freshman forward Hannah Bode leading the way with a tied team high 13 points on 6 of 7 from the floor.  Bode also gave the Knights their final lead of the night, hitting a crucial jumper with under two minutes to play, ultimately giving the Knights the game.

In a second half that featured many lead changes, the Knights strung together the game's final rally.  Down by three, sophomore guard Lissa Babinec came off a screen to connect on a shot from downtown, to tie the game at 58.  A defensive stop on the next possession set up Bode's lead changer.  Junior forward Sarah Seelow, who finished with 12 points and six boards, put the finishing touches on the win, hitting two free throws at the end to seal the victory.

The Knights face off against Presentation on Saturday.  Tip-off is at 3:00pm.
