Coach John Gronholz has been teaching and coaching in Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod schools for thirty-three years. He has coached a variety of sports from the Jr. High level to the college level. He coached soccer at Evergreen Lutheran H.S. for five seasons before accepting a call to DMLC in 1985 and MLC in 1996. He is in his fifth season as the head coach of the MLC women’s team. In five seasons his teams have compiled a 39-29-2 record. In conference play his teams have placed first twice, second once, and third once. The Lady Knights have taken second in the UMAC post season tournament the last three years.

The Knights return nine of the eleven starters from last season and five substitutes with extensive playing experience. The Knights will need to replace four year letter winner Hedy Daylo who graduated and team assist leader Jessica Koelpin who has transferred to another school. Last year’s team placed second in the UMAC conference play with a 6-2 record and 10-7 overall. This year’s team will be led by six seniors. They are Forward Rachel Traudt, Midfielders Sarah Nolte and Ami Cordes, and Fullbacks Jana Benrud, Liz Lemke, and Sarah Lindke. In addition, The Knights return striker Tami Schmidt who scored 15 goals last season.
