Nov. 10 - Two Knights Named First Team All-UMAC

Sarah Janke and Lindsay Hahn of the MLC women's soccer team were named First Team All-UMAC Monday. Janke, one of only two MLC seniors this season, led the Knights with ten points and six assists on the season. Hahn, one of five freshman named to the first team, was a force on the back end for the Knights and also scored one goal on the season. Fellow defender Kathryn Dickson was given Honorable Mention recognition.

 

Nov. 5 - Hannah Janke Named Player of the Week

Freshman Hannah Janke was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Week for her play in two games for the Knights last week. Janke scored the Knights' lone goal in a 1-1 tie against Bethany and compiled five shots in two games.

 

Nov. 1 - Knights Finish Season with 1-1 Tie

The MLC women's soccer team finished the season with a 1-1 tie at Bethany Saturday afternoon. Freshman Hannah Janke scored the Knights' goal in the first half off an assist from Sarah Janke. Goalkeeper Amanda Koch stopped nine of the ten shots she face. With the tie, the Knights finished the season with a 5-12-2 record overall and a 4-9-1 mark in UMAC play.

 

Oct. 29 - MLC Falls to St. Catherine 7-0

The Knights finished their non-conference slate with a 7-0 loss at St. Catherine Wednesday night. The Knights were outshot on goal 17-3 for the contest. Hannah Janke led the Knight offense with two of the three shots, with Sarah Janke picking up the third shot.

 

Oct. 25 - Knights Beat Crown 1-0

The Knights' defense did not allow a shot on goal in a 1-0 shutout win over Crown Saturday afternoon. Kadie Drake scored the lone goal of the game in the 53rd minute of the contest off a pass from Sarah Janke. The goal was Drake's third of the season. The shutout was goalkeeper Amanda Koch's second of the season.

 

Oct. 24 - MLC Upset Bid Against Northwestern Falls Short

The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute of the game but were unable to hold off Northwestern, who tied the game in the 84th minute and scored in the fourth minute of overtime in a 2-1 loss. Sweeper Lindsay Hahn scored her first career goal to put the Knights ahead on a header from the corner kick of Kathryn Dickson. Goalkeeper Amanda Koch made nine saves on 11 shots on goal.

 

Oct. 18 - Knights Snap Skid against Presentation

The MLC women's soccer team snapped a four-game losing streak in a 4-1 win over Presentation Saturday afternoon. Hannah Janke scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second half, while Heidi Heckmann and Heidi Wilz each scored a goal. The Knights peppered Presentation with 19 shots on goal for the game, while allowing just four on their net.

 

Oct. 17 - UM-Morris Blanks Knights

The MLC women's soccer team lost another 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of UM-Morris to fall to 3-9-1 on the season and 2-8 in UMAC play. Sarah Janke recorded the lone shot on goal for the Knights, while goalkeeper Amanda Koch saved five of the six shots she faced.

 

Oct. 14 - MLC Falls to Bethany in Overtime 1-0

The Knights didn't allow a goal for more than 96 minutes of play but were unable to score on any of their six shots on goal in a 1-0 loss to Bethany Tuesday. Kadie Drake led the Knights with two shots on goal for the game while goalkeeper Amanda Koch saved five of the six shots she faced.

 

Oct. 11 - MLC Shutout by CSS 6-0

The MLC women's soccer team was shutout at St. Scholastica Saturday aftertnoon by the score of 6-0. The Knights allowed four goals in the second half and were unable to put a shot on the goal for the contest, as they fell to 3-7-1 overall and 2-6 in the UMAC with the loss.

 

Oct. 10 - Knights Fall 1-0 at Northland

The MLC women's soccer team was unable to put any of their six shots into the net in a 1-0 loss at Northland College Friday afternoon. Heidi Wilz led the offense with three shots on goal, while Sarah Janke, Heidi Heckmann and Hannah Janke added one shot apiece. Goalkeeper Amanda Koch allowed just one goal and saved six shots in the loss.

 

Oct. 6 - MLC Ties North Central 2-2

MLC led nearly all of regulation but settled for a tie after North Central tied the game at 2-2 with one second remaining in regulation. Kadie Drake and Sarah Janke scored the goals for the Knights on the day, who moved to 3-5-1 overall on the season with the tie. The Knights outshot North Central 17-5 overall and 11-4 on goal.

 

Sept. 27 - MLC Falls to Northland 2-0

The MLC women's soccer team held Northland scoreless in the first half but were unable to answer two quick goals in the second in a 2-0 Saturday afternoon. The Knights were held to three shots on goal for the contest, but displayed a strong defensive effort, allowing Northland only three shots. The loss brings the Knights' record to 2-4 on the season.

 

Sept. 26 - Knights Shutout by St. Scholastica 3-0

The MLC women's soccer team fell to 2-3 on the season with a 3-0 loss to St. Scholastica Friday afternoon. The Knights fell behind 2-0 at the half and couldn't muster enough scoring chances to put a dent into the deficit. Goalkeepers Amanda Koch and Allison Snyder combined to make 12 saves in the contest, while Sarah Janke led the Knights with two shots.

 

Sept. 4 - Knights Pick up First Win of the Season

 The young Knights moved to 1-1 on the season with a 1-0 win over North Central. Senior Sarah Janke scored the lone goal of the game in the 72nd minute off a rebound in the box to give the Knights the win. Goalkeepers Amanda Koch and Allison Snyder combined for the shutout.
