GAME RECAP - After dropping three straight non-conference games to start off the season, the Knights rebounded in strong fashion with a convincing 48-20 win over the Fighting Saints from Mount Senario.  MLC took advantage of a very youg Saints team, which started 7 freshmen on offense and 7 freshmen on defense, with long pass plays to Senior Mike Feuerstahler and Sophomore Stephawn Coleman.

MLC started its scoring on their very first drive when Ben Kuerth found a wide open Stephawn Coleman running across the middle of the field.  Kuerth hit him in stride for a touchdown strike of 72 yards.  MLC capitalized late in the first quarter after Matt Buaer recovered a Mount Senario fumble off of a MLC punt.  MLC recovered at the Senario 2 and Eli Cloute took the ball in for the first of his 4 touchdowns on the day.

Early in the second quarter Mount Senario struck back with a 6 play 37 yard drive that was highlighted by a run by MSC quarterback Charlton for 23 yards down to the MLC 11.   MLC then took the ensuing kick-off and put together a quick scoring drive of 1:15 which was highlighted by a 28 yard pass completion by Kuerth to Coleman.  Cloute plunged into the end-zone for a one yard score.  MLC then took over at the MSC 4 yard line after Matt Frey snuffed out the Saints threat with an interception.  MLC then drove 96 yards for the touchdown.  Kuerth here hooked up with Fueuerstahler for a 61 yard completion and Cloute took it in for the score the very next play witha 25 yard run.

MLC would not be done with the scoring however, as Cloute would add a fourth touchdown in the half, this one coming after MSC was flagged for a 15 yard personal foul penalty that put MLC down on the Saints 14 yard line.  The Knights went into the half witha commanding 35-7 lead.

In the second half it was defense that took over for the Knights.  After forcing Senario to punt midway through the third quarter, Kuerth completed a 20 yard touchdown pass to Mike Feuerstahler who was so wide open in the end zone he was clapping his hands to get Kuerth's attention.

In the fourth quarter MLC's second and third team players gota chance to play in the Bowl.  Junior Chris Rathje led the Knights final scoring drive as he plunged in for a one yard score with 00:35 remaining on the clock.

This Saturday the Knights will travel to St. Bonafacius, MN to face Crown College.   Gametime is 1:30.
