Feb. 19 - Knights Lock Up Post-Season Berth with 8th Straight Win Senior forward Nathan Nass scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the first half to set the tone for the Knights 8th straight win, tying the program record, with a 73-67 victory over Bethany Tuesday night. Press Release
Knights Look to Extend Streak Into Postseason Play Break out your calculators, because this could get messy. Playoff implications abound as the Knights prepare to take on Bethany in their regular season finale, a finale the Knights hope gives birth to a post-season berth. Press Release
Feb. 9 - Knights Win Fourth Straight Senior forward Nathan Nass and company continue their offensive hot streak, earning their fourth straight win, defeating Presentation 99-78 Saturday night. Nass led the Knights with 23 points on 8-of-17 from the floor. Freshman point guard Greg Holzhueter collected 8 assists on the night, giving him 21 assists for the weekend after last night's record tying performance on most assists in a game in MLC history. During this four game stretch, the Knights have shot over 52% from the field, and held their opponents to 71ppg.
Feb. 8 - Nass and Holzhueter lead Knights over Morris Sometimes the ball just falls in the way you want it to. Excellent shooting in both halves lifted the Knights (7-12, 5-5 UMAC) over the Cougars of Minnesota-Morris (11-10, 6-4 UMAC), with a final score of 97 – 65. Click here to read the press release.
Feb. 1 - Knights Crack Triple Digits in Victory Over Northland After suffering a frustrating loss to Northland last weekend, the Knights break out with their biggest offensive output of the season, a 102-77 victory in their second game in seven days against the Lumberjacks Friday night. Senior guard Jake Schwartz led the Knights with a game-high 24 points. Sophomore Caleb Free was 4-of-6 from downtown, adding 19 points for the Knights, who shot 60% in the first half and 52% overall.
Jan 21- Knights Defeat North Central The Knights today played an awesome incorporating all levels of experience. Continuing on from last game's winning success, the Knights were unstoppable both on offensive and defensive. Ending the first half up 37-26, the Rams were just beginning to gain a momentum. However in the second half, the Knights took control and owned the floor. Ending the second half, all of the freshmen were able to get in a few minutes of game time, much to the amusement of the audience. Leading the team with 20 points was senior guard Jake Schwartz.
Jan 19- Knights Dominate Crown The Knights played a domineering game today commanding the lead from the get-go. Adopting a different strategy than last night's game of shooting from the outside, the Knights were able to gain most of their points on the paint. Ending the half up 41-32, the Knights were domineering the game. In the second half, the Knights came out a bit more defensive than the first half and as a result only scored an additional 29 points, but maintained their lead over Crown. Leading the team with 24 points was junior Aaron Schultz followed up by senior Nate Nass with 16 points.
Jan 18- Knights Lose Close Game Against Northwestern The Knights played an admirable game against Northwestern today and just lost the game by 4 points. The Knights played a tough game against the Eagles the entire time. After halftime, the Knights came out with renewed resolve. They placed increased pressure especially in the final 5 minutes. With 2 well-placed blocks by junior Caleb Free, an offense on fire, and a rowdy crowd, the Knights almost seem to have won the game in the last 30 seconds. However, victory eluded the Knights once again and left them losing by only 4 points. Leading the Knights in total points was Senior Nate Nass with 28 points.
Dec 17- Knights Suffer Defeat Against Central The Knights faced off against Central in an exciting and close match. Beginning the game with a 3-pointer, the Knights meant business. However, Central was able to pull ahead by half time with a 47-40 lead. Starting the second half, the Knights were unable to gain the upper hand on Central. Despite their valiant efforts, Central bested the Knights 85-72. Leading the team was junior Brian Gephart with 18 points followed up by junior Caleb Free with 16 points.
Dec 10 - Knights Collect First Win Against St. Olaf Sophomore center Aaron Schultz had 18 points and 11 rebounds en route to the 75-68 win over St. Olaf Monday night.
Dec 6 - Victory Eludes Knights Against Viterbo The Knights had a tough fight on the court in their first period against Viterbo. But after the half, the Knights stepped it up and placed renewed pressure upon Viterbo. Ending the game with a 66-67 loss, it was a close game till the last second. The Knights are looking forward to their next match against Bethany. Senior Nathan Nass and Junior Caleb Free led the team with 16 points each.
Nov 20 - Knights Fall to Dubuque in Opener The Knights struggled from the floor early and couldn't get any shots to fall as Dubuque went on to a 68-49 victory Tuesday night. The Knights shot only 21.4% from the floor in the first half and went into the locker room trailing 36-19. Senior forward Nate Nass led the team with 12 points.
