These are the city aqueducts. The one on the top is the Electoral Carp Pond Aqueduct. The one on the bottom is the Rische Bach Aqueduct. These aqueducts are part of a recent new development we are undertaking here at Wittenberg. In 1543 we had the city's first water main installed between the Teucheler Forest and the University of Wittenberg. It is our hope to eventually have this system of running water available to all of the people in the city through public fountains and maybe indoor plumbing. The water from these aqueducts ultimately ends up at the city mill, located near the Castle Church on the west end of town.
